I hope you politely told them they can f*ck right off if they are circumventing the x/y list

How would he know if they are doing this as the call comes in? Is there a quick way to check?

This group better get a real hold on what our contract actually is if there is any hope of getting something good in a JCBA.

The X/Y master list in this reference is the entire seniority list not just those actively listed on a specific X or Y list.

25.J.4.c
Crew Scheduling will contact Pilots on the X or Y Lists, who are legal and available for the entire trip and have no conflict with their subsequent assignment, in order, subject to this ranking. If a pilot does not answer the call then the Company will move to the next pilot on the list. Crew Scheduling must leave a message with the date/time of the call and trip number/trip length/report time being offered. Once completed, if all remaining pilots have a conflict with their subsequent assignment, Crew Scheduling will offer the trip to Pilots not previously contacted on the applicable X/Y Master List who are legal and available for the entire trip and have no conflict with their subsequent assignment, in the order according to paragraphs 4 a & b above. If all remaining pilots have a conflict with their subsequent assignment, and the Company elects to contact pilots with a conflict, Crew Scheduling will offer the trip to Pilots not previously contacted on the applicable X/Y Master List in the order according to paragraphs 4 a & b above.

Make sure when we get pilot only schedulers you call the FA line because that’s the number for Spirit crew that don’t know their contract, want to act like children, and be treated as such. This isn’t a regional.

Seriously? You think the company can’t call to ask for pilots when you’re off and not on legal rest?

I feel bad for schedulers that have to deal with pilots, and FAs, who don’t know their contract and get an attitude with schedulers.

Another example of people thinking the contract is the first few pages of Section 3 and nothing else.

Pre-vid when they would call me in this scenario, they would always say they are 'soliciting from the master seniority list.'

Yup. I’m amazed how professional our schedulers are. Every time they call I check the trip, and make a decision. They are always “ok, no problem, have a great day”. Whoever trains those schedulers does a very good job
