I'm seeing a lot of people posting about applying then being baffled that there is any kind of wait, or shocked they aren't getting a call immediately. This isn't some regional; Spirit is a major airline. It's competitive to be here. Not quite sure why that's being forgotten about. This isn't some kind of revolving door, which is ultimately what makes this such a great culture and pilot group. Those that are really just trying to spring-board to a legacy, need not apply.

Rumor is if you had any failure in 5 years you just aren’t good enough to work at spirit. Several people have said this and the application I recently submitted did ask if anything had been within 5 years.
Seems a tad on the extreme side especially if your hiccup was minor.

I'm not sure why you put "aren't good enough at Spirit" in your comment, and then equate a checkride failure within 5 years to a "hiccup" as to why you are not getting an interview.

A failure within 5 years won't get you anywhere outside of a Regional, particularly if that failure was in a 121/135.

First of all I don’t have any simulator checkride failures. One was a new hire oral exam. And the other was a line check over a medical certificate as was mentioned earlier.
But I guess the part I wanna know is what happened to the “just explain it in the interview” part?

So anything within 5 years is a no go? Seems like a lot of people on here told me that’s not true. And yes I do think it’s overkill. Probably half the people at my airline have something within 5 years that happened there.
