When were we ever trying to be that? When were our hiring standards different or subpar compared to anyone else's in recent years? I can't stand this attitude amongst some here that our pilots are somehow lesser than other airlines. This attitude has carried over in the form of apathy and lower expectations during past negotiations, and it continues to this day with the abysmal participation rate in the latest contract survey. This crap has to stop.
Yes, I agree. As someone who saw firsthand how poor our participation was and the apathy of this group. Definitely needs to stop!

Just as a datapoint, My friend started there a few months ago and he had busted his first 121 initial ride 2 years prior. So its not 5 years for sure.

Whooaaa- deep breath, lower the heart rate. It was sarcasm and a joke. Maybe you weren’t around when a felony helped you get hired here.. I kid I kid. No check ride failures here.

Just as a data point, my buddy got the TBNT from Spirit with two 121 check ride failures in the last 5 years. a few months later he is now a United new hire. So if Spirit really is taking the approach that no failures are acceptable, I highly doubt we will have an easy time hiring given that the legacies will be swooping up the perfect applicants along with the not so perfect. What does that leave us?

For those of you concerned about upgrade times at spirit, looks like things will be moving a little bit faster now with 15 additional new airplanes being leased.
