Totally man…no way would I ever make that $3000 back I lost from the dropped trip back, if I took a job at Spirit.

Such small minded thinking by you. Glad the guy made the 19th work and got out of the trip, even if that means a sick call.

Delta or Spirit, it’s millions on the table. But sure, $3000 for a 6 day trip. I pi$s on $3000 for 6 days of my life. That’s what happens once you leave your regional; you don’t do 6 day trips, and laugh at the idea of getting up for that.

I see people pick up straight pay open time and advertisements (trade board) all the time. Now and at regionals.

He made the date work. Glad he did. Point being if you get offered an interview that can literally change your life you make the dates work some how. Those that don’t stay at regionals. Ain’t nobody going to hand you a job like that have been at the regionals the last few years. It’s a different game.

Default Application

I applied a few years ago and it seems like there was a place to download a cover letter as well as letters of recommendation. I believe the application system changed slightly since the first time I applied back then and all I can find is a place to attach a resume? Am I missing something or are they not looking for cover letters anymore? I ask because one of the guys that referred me asked if I had submitted a cover letter. Haven’t thought about it until he mentioned it.

I remember calling in sick for both my CFI job and my 3rd shift warehouse job and then taking a payday loan to buy a ticket and hotel room for a crappy regional job interview…

and that was over a decade before they were offering signing bonuses, guaranteed basing, reserve hotels, etc.

Guess times really have changed.

If you have an ATP and a medical getting a regional job is a certainty these days and you can have your pick. Problem is a lot of those pilots have never had a real job and assume as soon as they get mins for the next level someone is going to hand them a job. After a month of simply submitting an app you get questions like why hasn’t xyz airline called, I submitted over a month ago.

Still having some issues with the application. I filled out a new application in late June. Everything was updated and a fresh resume is attached. This was done with my ipad(if this matters later in the description of my problem). Since I re-submitted the app, when I login to check the status, it shows an accurate day for the last date that I updated my app (which I often do on my phone or iPad from a hotel). My first issue is that under “past job submittals,” it shows a job ID from when I applied in 2019 and a date “last updated” of 08/2020.

While sitting here in the FBO, I decided to check it out on their computer. When I logged in all of my information is there, just as it had been last updated. However, on the computer there are blocks to input additional info such as “Description” of job duties which was not on my iPad or iPhone and I did have to input some of the dates from previous jobs, so I input all of that information. I am logging in on my phone and iPad and it continues to show the old job ID, but when I login to the computer it is showing the new job ID and it was dated on 6/30 when I re-submitted the latest app. I am confused and really don’t know if I am not getting a call because they are seeing something different than what I thought I had submitted.

please be gentle guys, I know I am not the smartest person in the forums and I already feel like an absolute moron. I am using the exact same login credentials, but I am seeing totally different things depending on the device.
