I always want to make more. Whatever I make is just subsistence wages.

It’s not anywhere on par with the industry first of all and second people keep saying captains are making $300k which they are not. Let get off the yellow koolaide for a few minutes and tell the truth.

How often is overtime or 200% red flag pay offered? Does spirit offer extra pay to pick up trips at all in open time?

At top CA pay thats like less than 87 hours a month. We are talking total compensation which includes the additional 15% DC which comes regardless of what I put in. I'm at 92 hours next month with 15 days off. Just 4 4-day trips. I may pick up a 3 day and GFD it and possibly try for an x/y trip. I could easily hit mid to upper 120s in credit. That type of pay is very easy to obtain here for a CA, especially one at 12 year pay as he/she will be able to get what they want in terms of a schedule.

The direct contribution is not salary, it’s a benefit. Not the same thing.

Wait a minute. You can find time to eat 2, possibly 3 "sit down" meals per day?

Hey all, how do letters of recommendation work? I have a buddy that has one and isn't sure if he needs to 'upload' it on his end on the app or if the spirit pilot 'posts' it on their end? Thanks in advance!

Great. If it doesn’t count, just send me yours…

Your per diem too. It’s not like you weren’t going to eat anyway if you were sitting reserve in base or at home, for that matter. That money is tax free which makes it especially valuable.

money is fungible, you see…

How do you you correlate it being not important, with someone saying it’s a benefit and not a salary?

what part of money is fungible did you not understand? And once you hit the contributory limit it gets paid to you anyway. If you’d prefer the word “earnings” that would probably be more appropriate since “salary” generally denotes a fixed amount and we do piecework with a guaranteed minimum.
