Maybe this was true long ago, but its not 2015 anymore. Captains here make >$300K/yr and FO’s can crack $150K without a sweat. We have comically good QOL, fast upgrades, explosive growth, great benefits/retirement, and over 3000 resumes in the pile…

So to anyone who thinks a degree makes you “too qualified” for a multi-million dollar career spirit, you are probably the type that the recruiters are hoping to weed out during the interview process

Exactly why I am trying my absolute best to become a part of the Spirit family. What’s more to want with all that!?!

Be careful, someone is going to come on and tell you our QOL is the worst and we lag in everything.

Top line CA is currently $252. You’d have to average 100+ hrs a month every month of the year to crack $300k. There might be a couple outside the training department but it’s not even close to the norm. Not sure where this $300k number keeps coming up. It’s fiction

12 year CA DOS +4 is $260/hr. At 83 and 1/3 hrs a month that’s $260k a year.

401k at 15% is is another $39k. That’s $299k. 2% 321 kicker is $6k getting you up to $305k.

I know, I know , everybody says per diem isn’t pay…yada yada. The h€|| it isn’t and it’s tax free and social security tax free too so it’s BETTER than salary, which will be AT LEAST another $4-7k.

So yeah, if you can’t get by on $310k you’ll have to go somewhere with a better contract or hope NK gets one before you become a senior CA. .

We are DOS+3 right now. I also don’t count 401k or per diem as pay. Per diem is for expenses. I’m not pocketing it. It covers about two sit down meals with not even three if you aren’t eating garbage fast food. Yes, 401k is compensation but it’s not “salary” which is what we are talking about. I’m also not saying what we make isn’t a livable wage but let’s stop inflating it into something it’s not. It’s not anywhere on par with the industry first of all and second people keep saying captains are making $300k which they are not. Let get off the yellow koolaide for a few minutes and tell the truth.
