A wise man might leave his car parked at the Sheltair lot, tip their van driver well and use travel privileges to save the extra driving.

Nobody is driving their car home for the short break. Just leave it and fly home.

I drove and left my car there for the 2 weeks at home. I would highly recommend bringing a car!

Honestly I didn't use the app that much. I paid $30 for it but barely used it. I found the cockpit posters and the flow guide the company gives you immediately after you are hired worked best. Then when you get to class on Day 1 you get access to Ethos which will have a similar trainer on there where you can get a picture of the cockpit and click on each button, switch, knob, etc. and get a detailed description of what they do. But others said the app helped them out a lot so ymmv. Consider it a nice to have but certainly not needed to pass training.

I already have it I’m more just concerned with how up to date they keep the app with regard to flows. All the captain and FO flows match between the flow guide and the app, however there seem to be differences in the PF, PM flows

Ironically, at least when I went through, is that the flow guide the company/union give out also wasn't current with the flows. It had several errors in it.
