New Hire classes starting in March

People who want them are going to take their shots and then win, lose, or draw, life is going to pretty much go on. Nobody will be talking lockdowns.
This will still be a lean year - because of the damage done to a lot of economies by the lockdowns. But anyone suggesting more lockdowns or school shutdowns in the Fall will simply be voted out of office.
- but NK will be turning a profit by the end of 2nd quarter.

They’re seeing positive signs or they wouldn’t be pulling 319’s out of the dessert. They obviously think they can make more flying them than having them parked.

I have a buddy of mine that was not so lucky back when we were furloughed from our regional in the beginning of 2020. I am trying to do everything I can to help him get hired here because I told him how great everyone is here. Is there something I can do to help his chances one we start hiring again from the inside? Like email Sandy? Anything would help! Thanks

I don’t believe there is a specific window like at F9, B6, and others. It just stays open until they cease hiring. I could be completely wrong in that assumption. As far as a timeframe to hear back, there’s no way to know until they contact you. I waited a week, but I had a little help from the inside. Some of my classmates were months and several MTC. Best of luck!

The recent podcast gives some info on that:

Basically, hiring was stopped about a year ago although a few small classes for people with CJOs who had already been given class dates earlier started as late as May. Since that time, there have been no classes.

But like the sorcerers apprentice, the new Airbuses have just kept coming.
With more waiting in the wings...

So even though NK is somewhat overstaffed for current demand it is understaffed for the current fleet and given the time it will take to get new butts in the seats and half that many upgrades with existing sim/training capabilities the plan would appear to be to lead-turn full recovery. And management is betting that leisure flying recovery is going to lead the overall industry recovery and they want to be able to gainfully employ the new aircraft that NK currently own and have inbound in the future.
If recovery goes as they hope, they are just going to keep hiring. If it doesn’t, they’ll tighten the spigot on future classes.

Has this SF person been there long? I have had several friends hire in there within the last 3-4 years that took the job because they were the first to call.
