Default Take the vil/eil

the company will account for all EIL and VIL pilots, at their applicable pay rates, and reduce the number of furloughs/downgrades using all cost savings achieved by the EIL and VIL awards.
its not a concession, it’s a paid vacation; and it saves the rest of us a lot of hardship

As a junior CA, VIL-EIL pays me more than if I get downgraded at full pay. Not a bad option

Yes and if you want try and side hustle or try something new. Take a long trip. Sit and do nothing. Get some more projects done. Looking forward to a long paid time off.

What I want to know ( maybe I missed it ) but if I’m a junior CA and am awarded EIL and after that the reduction bid would bump me to FO would I be stuck on EIL at FO pay? That’s a factor

You will have the option to terminate your bid if that were to happen.

thank you for clarifying. Honestly I think the union did a fantastic job, they need a pat on the back.

yes which I think is a shame. I know the company is probably scared of paying displacement moving costs but they are going to anyway with displacements from furloughs.

going to be sad if people that wanted to take EIL’s couldn’t get them and people are furloughed because of it.

I agree. I’m 4 months into 2nd year here and was one of the WARNs, but I will absolutely be bidding for all of them. Time will tell if I get any of the 3 options, but zero reason not to.

I can’t imagine a lot of CAs won’t be taking these (biggest savings fo the company) so hopefully this results in keeping a ton of guys here on property.

Say whatever you want about the Co. I wasn’t here “back in the day” and “TRO” and what not. It is incredibly refreshing to see the MEC and Co actively work together.

Union and Co working together is absolutely NOT happening at my last shop.
