When you look at it objectively, this is an unprecedented opportunity to get a big pay check plus full benefits to f''k off and do whatever you want for a few months. No reason we shouldn't have maximum participation and no reason we should have to furlough at all. Alaska avoided all furloughs this way. My friend at Endeavor says they have more people on voluntary leave than would necessitate a furlough.
Even though each base has targets, they'll probably give them to whoever wants them.
