I am happy for our CEO calling for the end to the mandatory mask rule. I see another CEO speaking up and hopefully this will be optional soon.

its good to see the “higher-up” people thinking this mask thing need to go as we head into the summer.

Why do we still have to wear them in the training center then?

Our class barely wore them, as in only when the boss man was roaming around. Never wore them in the sim center.

on a recent trip...multiple cities...Nobody (pilots or non-pilots) wore them on the shuttle to and from the airport, in the hotel, and a lot of people even walking around the terminal. Lots of Ramp crews, cops and other airport employees don’t even wore them. Nobody, I say it again, nobody cared!

then it hit me...I just realized the only people who did care are the Flight Attendants and Gate Agents, and again they are super strict. Is that mask is a millimeter below your nose??? Get your mask on now Sir!!!

people are ready to move on...

While in uniform, I wear mine in lobbies, vans, in the airport, and while greeting passengers. Gotta lead by example, and if the Captain isn’t doing it, then how can he have the ‘authority’ to tell someone else what to do??? Out of uniform, I don’t wear it at all, fully vaxed and my giveadamn is broken....

I have been continuously amazed at the vigor of the gate agents and FA’s picky enforcement of this mandate.
Are they really under that much scrutiny that when the diaper slides down a fraction of an inch they get busted?
Or is that group of employees simply that scared of this thing.
Pilots almost to a one don’t give two ****s anymore, if they ever did.

I wear it at the airport. No more vans or hotels for me, as I have seen most have removed the mask signs. Like most of us, I toss it off once on the flight deck as I will be “actively drinking” my entire time up there. Comes a point when I get tired of making MCDU input errors because of a mask obstructing my view below.

It’s time we get back to normalcy so unless there is a law asking for masks being worn (airport), I don’t.

I’ve been vaccinated, so this is insane to keep wearing them in airports and the plane.

I don’t lead by example for something I don’t care about... When a passengers isn’t wanting to wear a mask that gets on the plane. I’ll call the CRO and nobody will ever see me.

I have my COVID shot...so it doesn’t bother me what other people do.
