Ahhh okay, makes sense. I’m not part of any group yet. I’m in the 10/24 class so nothing as of yet

There’s no such thing as a GDO.

The schedule I’m looking at in FC View determined that this is a lie

Gdo is guaranteed day off. I haven’t been on reserve in some time so I can’t explain it well but it’s in the contract. They have days that are moveable. GDO is just that a guaranteed day off. They aren’t moveable .

It shows up on the schedule, for some reason, but the term isn't in the contract. I believe it is an FA thing. Your mentor will explain it to you.

Well I hope you're just being cute with the terminology and don't actually believe there's no such language in the CBA. True, "GDO" does not appear in the CBA; it's a term that got its designation from who-knows-where in CrewTrac. The interchangeable term used (and accepted by the company and ALPA) is "immovable day off", which is defined in 25.B.3.4. And there absolutely is such a thing.

That is all true, however, I have never heard of the company exercising that…ever!

I have been on reserve a really really long time and I have never had that happen to me.

Pretty sure they're referencing the company using them on a non-"GDO" day off. GDOs seem to be a simple formality.
