The grid is contractually compliant at the start of Initial Open Time, but becomes almost exclusively red at the close. Only the top 10 percent are able to take advantage of the QOL this hard fought provision provides.
This is due to low FO staffing, and because of this, the grid starts with a net reserves of only 0 or 1 for many of the days. There are too many open duty periods compared to the number of available pilots.
By the time the first 5 pilots start adjusting their schedule (dropping most trips so they can become available for premium trips) the grid is almost completely red.

Or is that what you meant by "...the grid is almost completely red"?

Not sure what the most senior base is, but this is ACY.
6 green. This is actually better than September because there is at least 3 days in a row green.

Not going to lie, I honestly forgot about ACY. It's probably terrible there. Having said that, the only reason it exists is because of the old school nostalgia of the airline.
Either way, I'm confused why you would make such strong statements about NK, with regards to dropping trips, when you're in such a base; which you know has no future. So why say such a thing? People literally come to this forum to seek advice, and you offer up a coffin corner. How does that help anyone? What's the point?
