You seriously expect to keep new FOs at training and first year pay in this environment? A lot are going to see the writing on the wall at the regionals and jump to NK for a new type rating to enhance their resume while keeping apps out and updated for someone that will provide them with a living first year wage for their family and immediate insurance coverage. You’ll lose them to the first major that treats them kindly.

A big amount of the attrition last year were people who came here because they had a conditional offer from a legacy but got put in a pool. They were never going to stay.
That’s called hyperbole. Let’s hit double digit attrition first (the 40 a month for the entire year as someone claimed) with no company response and then I’ll join your doomsday club and say you are correct.
I’ve been wrong before.

I'm not sure how you know the case of all these fo's who came here with other conditional offers. Not sure if that checks
Also there is no reason to believe that the 40 a month will stop. As long as the major's are hiring there is no reason for it to.

For me NK is less about the money and more about the fact they did less poorly than their competitors when it came to hemorrhaging money. What would the industry have looked like if there were not three bailouts? Furloughs or even BKs would abound.
For NB, legacies DO pay more...but what happens if a contract gets torn up? What about spending a year on furlough?
NK could furlough or BK too, of course, but I'm betting by the time their house is on fire the neighbors' will already be ash heaps.
Delta is saying they expect to return to profitability around March, which is good news, but NK was in the green since September. I am curious to see what their 4Q earnings are like.

The idea that it won’t be addressed seems a bit far fetched. I can fully see our C suite waiting until things get very uncomfortable before they act. But letting the operation crater is unlikely.
They’re still on pace to grow by 10-12% even if 40 a month leave in perpetuity btw. That’s still 300 pilots of growth for a 2800 pilot sized airline. Yes, I know that it could spiral if not addressed. No need to clutch those pearls on that account. It has us all concerned.
BTW, paying each seat an extra $50 an hour is a surprisingly small ticket price increase in an inflationary economy where everyone will be forced to charge more. It’s not some dramatic step where the company tanks because they have to pay the pilots.

ny own 2 cents but the thing left out as to why people are leaving is not just the pay I would say. Allot of people came here for a easy going pilot group, growth and quick upgrades and the ability to get time off ie drop to 0 if you want. Well the pilot group is still easy going, the growth is in theory still happening and the contract hasnt changed. What has been a shock though are the meltdowns, the lack of mangement, the terrible IT and 0 infrastructure. All that compounds into a place where you cant be proud of to work at. The shine really rubbed off this place very quickly for allot of people and thats why their leaving. I just dont think its all about the dollar signs. I know its not. Ask an FO

But, will the company ACT on their concerns?? Or, will they wait till **** is blowing up before they do something ala one of our countless meltdowns?? They only waited till **** blew up in Lauderdale before they raised ramper pay. How long for us??
