This is why I won’t bid down to reserve, did it once a few years ago to make sure I had a holiday off I broke min guarantee while the jr guys in the same day didn’t work much, Called scheduling on it and was told the ever popular “fly now grieve later.” And that was the last time I bid reserve.

Each and every other time after politely alerting them to the mistake they have taken me off the trip and placed back on call. Appropriate pilot was then called for the trip. I have never once been told fly now grieve later in my entire time at spirit.

You need to get a better handle on the assignment methodology in the CBA I suggest. While it’s not perfect it’s pretty easy to verify if trips are assigned correctly. Predictably of if you will get used is another issue. That’s a factor of how early open trips appear in open time and the type of trips they are, and how many pilots are ahead of you that might match those said trips. I can’t sit at home and predict if some piecemealed trip will be built at the last minute to take advantage of reserve pilots they might have or if someone is going to call in sick right before show time or in the middle of a trip. That stuff will never be predictable siting at home on the couch. You can however generally predict which RAPs and which days of the week get used the most in your base and seat using historical trends and bid approximately.

I don’t believe this at all. I’ve been assigned out of order a bunch of times. Honestly don’t think it’s out of malice but out of lack of training for the schedulers and not having dedicated pilot schedulers. However, after accepting the assignment and researching the proper order for that particular trip and seeing I was in fact assigned out of order, I call back and politely bring it do their attention. Once they told me the guy ahead of me had called in sick and flica had not updated. Another time they told me they had just called the guy in front of me for another assignment. This is all verifiable.

Same as my experiences too. Only once in my entire time here have I ever gotten any attitude from scheduling, for any reason. In fact im amazed how professional they are, knowing the attitude they must see from the Pilot/FA groups that dont know the contract yet want to argue about it.

In base SCR is awesome
I’ve been on reserve since Hire date - 20 months. Live in base. 300 hours total block. Awesome sitting reserve at home. I can predict fairly accurately exactly which trip I am going to be assigned. Know the CBA
