I see. So basically, once I get a line, it would be possible to drop the trips that don’t fall within those days and look to pick up trips that do?

Even with preferential bidding many pilots rarely fly their original awarded schedule.
In chronological order:
1) You can bid for what you want (seniority)
2) You can swap with initial open time (seniority)
3) You can swap with daily open time (first come, first serve)
4) You can straight up drop trips (reserve coverage exceeds minimum each day of the trip or “green”)
5) You can put on pilot trade board (any pilot with those days off can take it from you if they really want to work for straight time)

You do understand that most people aren’t going to accept your laziness, as this has been discussed in great detail almost weekly, litterally. Right? The information is posted weekly, literally. There is almost nothing you can ask, that hasn’t been answered recently. **** you young guys are lazy

Why are they the basement? What makes us or delta or United any better? As far as I’m concerned we are the top. We deserve higher than anyone. We do more with less on a daily basis. This pilot group needs to pull their collective heads out of this airline tier BS we’ve been fed. Just stop
I agree, we should be paid the highest!

Once you have a line you can almost do whatever you need to do with your schedule. It’s incredible and why I came here (not from a regional if that tells you anything).
There may be days that are Red and if any part of your trips touches that day you can’t drop it (only swap with another one), but a lot of the time Red days usually turn green. The only exception would be major holidays. I’ll give you an example.
2 years ago in December I was the most bottom line holder. The absolute last person in my base with a line. I had a 7 day cruise to go on and I had 2 Xmas parties to attend. I was able to accommodate all of these events by the time it was all over.
One of the weekends, of a Xmas party was red. I kept watching the grid and eventually it turned green and got my trip dropped. The only days that were red (solid) was Xmas. No surprise.
If you wanted M-Th trips you may also have to look at trips in other bases as well. Some months OT is not very busy (in a particular base or even system wide). It’s great if you already commute because then it doesn’t really matter if you head to ORD/DTW/DFW/MCO etc etc to find trips that work for you.
Hope that helps. The flexibility is pretty much unmatched here. More times than not your schedule can be made exactly as you need it to be.

Hey man! Ignore all the angry, get off my lawn, use the super amazing, simple, effective and time saving “search” feature (that actually sucks) types on here.

For personal reasons, I normally have to be home Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings, so having heard about schedule flexibility, immediately caught my attention about NK, but just wanted to have an insight about what I can really expect once I’m able to hold a line. So basically, I really don’t mind what kind of trip pairings I get, or start/end times, as long as I have those days and times at home.

^^^This^^^ The overwhelming majority of guys and gals here are nothing at ALL like 69fastback and are more than willing to help you out with whatever you need. Sorry that person was so unnecessarily rude to you. Everyone should understand that search function on this website is garbage and it’s a lot of info to sift through…
