But what are we really talking about here? A regional style $20 a month uniform stipend each month on our check? Is that really in our goals list at this stage of the career?
Things like this, in my opinion, are in regional contracts to distract from the junk of the entire contract. Does anyone need $20 a month to afford their uniform or is this just a cheap pilot "I want $20 because I want $20"
Personally, I dont want any of this kind of low bar junk discussed in section 6. Its beneath us at this point to be discussing pennies a day when we should be discussing larger issues.
I do not want any trivial gesture of $15-$20 month for uniforms to be misconstrued as a "give" by the company or a "gain" by the pilot group.
Keep your uniform allocation, medical reimbursement, crew meals, or any other ridiculous items of such.
I keep hearing about how we want big money, retirement, min day, etc....yet uniforms..
This isnt directed at you, I know youre just adding what you had before. But Section 6 opens soon and as a pilot group we need to get our damn minds right on what we are doing here, and it aint $20 uniform allowances.

However, I do agree with you, this isn’t something we should be wasting negotiating capital on. Every pilot should just wear the crap that’s issued (new hires take the donations from other pilots) and maybe the chief pilots will solve the uniform problem on their own. Imagine how great our crews would look if everyone was in their wonderful “world class” huge billowing shirts and baggy pants from the vendor. That is, if they even send you the correct order in the first place which also seems to be a challenge.

Don’t these “wolves” already have uniforms, meals, medical reimbursement, first year pay and everything else you said is ridiculous, on top of everything else we want too (pay)?

So the day Spirit has top pay and retirement (never going to happen) is when you think it’s appropriate to ask for other niceties in a contract? I don’t know the answer to this, but is that how the other majors did it? I’ve heard people here spew that we need to go through the same amount of “contract cycles” to get what everyone else has (as of today) so to them, we will always be 10-50 years behind until we reach the right cycle to ask for something.

Sick if needed is a nice contractual niceties
Red eye override pay is a nice contractual niceties
Uniform allowance as a monthly stipend vs 18 months is low hanging fruit that we should not even think about.
Crew meals are worthless just as our uniform resupply at 18 months is, majority of us don’t want it (eat it) and do our own thing for uniforms and food.
$20 a month is about the equivalent of a little more 25 cents an hour at guarantee. If you feel like that’s time well spent at the table, so be it. I’m sure Bendo would much rather spend time at the table discussing $15 vs $20 a month at the table vs LTD offsets, health care, 18% DC, and top pay that actually surpasses other Airbus operators

Negotiations with ourselves on a public forum a year before our negotiations even start. I don’t know if I have the patience for another contract here… I’m hoping this is just trolls and company paid posters or are we really so dumb?

lowest pay check I had was $200 when I was on first year pay, and that was because there was a couple of trips i couldn't drop. I paid my sitter more than I was making, so why go to work? You can only drop if the grid is green, do NK saves money by you dropping, they are paying the reserve guy already, might as well fly him. You credit for the month starts with whatever you are awarded in your monthly bid, and if below, bumped up to guarantee (not likely to happen). From that point, any trade (other crew member), swap drop ,add (open time), the credit for those trips will be added/subtracted from your initial monthly credit. Your last day of the month paycheck is for half guarantee (36 hours), your 15th day pay check is for 36 hours +/- all your transactions from the previous month. If you fly your 80 hour line in September, and drop to 0 in October, on the 15th of October you get your extra hours for September so (72/2)+(80-72)=44 hours. on the 15 0f November you get your "extra" hours for October (72/2)+(0-72)=-72, so you owe the company 72 hours of pay. For me it was subtracted of my next check...
