Can anyone tell me what the policy is for listing for the jumpseat and then not making it? I know some airlines, such as FedEx, take not cancelling a jumpseat listing pretty seriously, while others pretty much don't care (AA, UA, etc). I always try to cancel with other airlines through myIDtravel if I know it's not going to work out and I have the time and opportunity, but I can't seem to find anyplace to cancel a jumpseat listing on Spirit's website.

Does anyone even care as long as I don't check in? I always wait to check in until I know I'm going to need the ride/make it.

they don’t care or track it at all. no need to cancel it, if you are not there they will simply move to the next listed pilot

This is the second story I have heard about AA giving jumpseaters a hard time about having 3 bags. I imagine they probably blacklist Fkight attendants because I rarely see any flight attendants with less than 3 bags.
What exactly are you going to send to the jumpseat coordinator? You did not want to comply with the carryon rules and the agent enforced it?

Not that it matters to me if they made me check my bag. However I’m sure our jumpseat committee would hear about it, if our agents starts charging offline pilots and FA $65 for their 3rd bag because it’s the rules.

Haha. Typical Delta response.

Not everything is black and white, Admiral.
Are you guys still required to gate check your carry on bags when jump seating on your own metal?

What self respecting pilot carries 3 bags. Have some shopping to do while someone watches your cats?

Settle down there skip. The kind that brings their own food and tries to be healthy on the road.

What kind of self respecting pilot really needs to care if another pilot has 2 or 3 bags?

Also, uniformed crew are actually exempt from the 2 bag rule. I dont know the exact reference, but its in the regs and company policies. Out of uniform an agent can make you check one, however not for a fee.

One who's not lazy like me, I suppose. Just carrying my roll-a-board and my laptop case is plenty for me.

Haha. I really gotta hand it to the guys who bring a cooler full of food they prepped before coming to work. They really have their life together. I’m lucky if I remember to bring enough underwear and clothes for the overnight and I’m usually packing 5 minutes after I should have left for the airport. But to each their own. The best are the FOs that bring homemade beef jerky to share...
