That’s right, It will be 1/1 or 2/2 as long as a Spirit Pilot hasn’t taken one of the seat or training doesn’t remove it for a line check. You can also tell it’s a Spirit Pilot, because when you look at the non-rev list, it will show NK under the airline as oppose to OA for offline.

I always screen shot the listing, showing my name as the only name on the jumpseat, because I’ve seen our pilots do some bush league stuff on listings. I had one pilot, who was going to training, volunteer to take the jump to get a revenue passenger on, after I was already listed for the jumpseat. It was surreal, like in what universe does a pilot knowingly volunteer to bump the jumpseat listed pilot, when he is positive space travel to training?!

I told him he could take his assigned seat and I went back up to the agent to get him off my Jumpseat.
Damned autocorrect capitalizing Jumpseat on me as I type

I had a spirit pilot who was positive space/deadheading on my flight and I knew there was another Spirit pilot that was trying to Jumpseat. I was surprised when he came into the cockpit and announced he was taking the Jumpseat but he was deadheading and he had already worked it out with the agent.
I told him he could take his assigned seat and I went back up to the agent to get him off my Jumpseat.

I was DH one day and the gate agent asked me if I would take the jump seat in order to get a non-rev family member on. I refused and explained that the DH seat is mine. Said gate agent went to the Captain with the same request and the captain came back and told me I was moving to the jump seat. I eventually agreed so as not to cause any friction with the flight crew. As I was moving up to the jump seat the gate agent came back on and told the captain that there was a higher priority non-rev in line and that her family member wouldn't make it anyway and told me to go back to my DH seat.

Agreed, and I would help a non-rev if I could in this same situation. However this should be something you are asked or volunteer to do, not something that the captain or gate agent should force/instruct a positive space DH they must do. You are on duty and the CBA says you have no obligation to move for any reason.

You can call bull **** all you want. This is what happened. And as I said I eventually agreed. Captain didn't force me. Then it was a moot point because the gate agent was only interested in getting her family on and not the other non-rev. That was the point of my post. But the DH seat belongs to the DH. That's what all you guys have been telling me since I got into the 121 world. So which is it?

We don’t move for revenue passengers because that could screw over a commuter.
You moved to help a non rev who doesn’t have jumpseat access, and as long as that doesn’t displace a jumpseater that is entirely your choice.
In your case the move you made was a gentlemanly action, but I think his poorly made point was the gate agent and her family should be grateful not pushy, and the captains involvement should have been limited to approving a jumpseat and verifying no other commuter needed it, not pressuring you.
