STOP AND THINK

For those who have "vote this thing in and start the clock again for next negotiations" as a reason to vote yes, stop and think. You are rushing to vote in a contract in order to start the clock for a next contract? What?!?!? A contract is open NOW for a chance to get a better contract NOW, why put it off for 7 more years?. Leave the future for the future, as everyone on here says, "no one knows what the future holds".

No need to rush into what you'll experience for the next 7 yrs. Ensure you are getting the best contract now so when the clock starts again you have 7yrs of decent QOL and pay and not needing to even worry about when the next contract will come. It's gonna be either:
1) You guys sitting comfy and in no rush to ratify another contract in 2025 or
2) Management sitting comfy when they get all the concessions they need from this TA therefore having all the reason to drag out a next negotiation in the future.

The choice is yours Today

If you think mgmt wont drag out another contract negotiation again, then you deserve to be bamboozled.

PS. Sorry for posting this on multiple forums, its just stupid to have that as a reason.

Or maybe not, since we are all going to be working so much harder and longer...

When CS makes us sit at the aerodrome for up to 117 FDP limits, reducing our rest and layover time, which hotel will we go to, long or short?
Hilarious!
I agree completely with 15/18hr being irrelevant, however I’m really not scared about being held at the airport too long. The only reason to keep me there after my 10hr duty is because they want to work me. If they don’t have anything for me by the time I reach pumpkin-3hours chances are, I won’t have the duty time to fly it. Most likely I will get paid $400 to go for lunch before I go to the hotel, and if that happens too often CS will have to answer why soft pay is going up.

I've said this too. A 5 year contract is just one more way this thing is "Industry Lagging." If we vote this down, my survey is going to say 4 years.

5 years plus the 3 years it will take to get another one, if we're lucky, is over 1/3 of the career I have left. How is that "resetting the clock?" More like the company "Running out the clock" on me.

The thing is this isn’t going to fail. No way 750 guys vote no. Too many risks for small reward for most. And unfortunately for me I still agree with that.

If it was going to fail it needed to fail 80/20 or 90/10. Will never happen. The worst thing that could happen is it fails 51/49.

Way I see it is we’re all in this together. If the company thinks this contract is going to create some Kumbaya atmosphere they’re idiots. Take what the contract gives you, work it to the best of your ability and I still won’t be doing any favors and I’m guessing 2 engine taxis etc.... are still gonna be the norm. It’s still the WIFM program for me.

They are too stupid to understand what profit sharing can do to employees motivation for efficiency.

I don't necessarily agree that failing 51/49 is a failure. Majority still rules. If it's that close, polish it up and get it back out for a vote with the critical items fixed. I'd rather wait a little longer now than have it affect the next 5-20+ years of our careers.

Passing 51/49 seems like the worst case scenario to me.
