It’s the cost of money while trying to get that better deal.
Forgoing thousands a month in gains would require years to make up for the loss of money today, for tomorrow. Not counting the loss and risk of not having scope, LTD, increased rigs, DC etc...
The company is not walking away from rescheduling and reserve drops. That’s set. Those are their must haves. We might as well give up LTD if we think they are walking from rescheduling. It’s that important to them.

If scope was solid I would vote for this poor TA for that exact reason you stated because you are absolutely right and I wanted such when the AIP was released. I didn’t see this scope section coming. Scheduling I saw coming. Not fixing the block or better leg by leg was astonishing

their rescheduling is notify by ACARS or gate agent, and can hold you at airport for 2 hours for free. you get 1 minute pay for 2 minutes AFTER 2 hours. better rescheduling should be more punitive for them and beneficial for us. Should read: if rescheduled, you are pay protected for original trip, PLUS new legs are 200% over guarantee. reserve drops should still be from at least one block...outside in. with this TA it has it until PBS, then no reserve drops at all.

1: They cannot notify you via ACARS. The notification procedure is still the same as in our current contract. Positive telephone contact. In the TA Q&A, it does say that we are “required to contact Scheduling if requested to do so by station personnel”.
2: 25.I.2.c says they pay you 2 hours of pay automatically if they require you to stay at the airport after you block in (in order to be rescheduled) at your overnight destination. This is whether they reschedule you or not. If they do reschedule you, then the 1 for 2 equation kicks in.
It seems to me that so many of the “NO” voters were quick to scan the contract, talk to their angry buddies, spread false rumors, and then proceed to spend their time spreading the false rumors on WhatsApp and APC. I personally just got through disecting all parts of the contract, made a list of pros and cons, doing my due dilligence and going to a road show, and talking with pilots that I respect before jumping to either side of the fence. I’ll be honest, all the vocal idiots that have serious “tin foil hat complexes” are actually doing the opposite for those of us who are trying really hard to make the best, and most educated, decision we can.

Art L. talked for quite a while on the scope issue and code sharing. You need to go to a road show but he is extremely knowledgeable and has been doing this for many years. He summed it up by saying that the scope is substantially better and offers adequate protection for any plausible scenario. And he went over a number of scenarios, including code sharing. So go to a road show and ask your questions.
This scope is much better than what we have and I’m not denying that but it’s not solid enough to let linger for another 8 years.

You should just go to reeducation camp roadshow. It is great. You get free bottle of water, then scary man gives you blue pill. 10 minutes later everything is just fine.

They are definitely disorganized. However, I don’t think a couple JA calls going out over super bowl weekend is an indication that we are short staffed.
