I’m glad you guys are taking a look.
From the looks and sounds of it, a very high potential exists for flying to be carved out, Mgmt knows its strategy better than ALPA Reps/Line Pilots. Weak Scope language can be circumnavigated during dispute by the System Board that will have jurisdiction. Not ALPA.
The technical stuff I understand in the contract sections posted above, but the extra interpretation after is an opinion of what the company will do or not do in regards to chasing profits, and in regards to Sprits mgmts decision regarding 99% revenue or not, all opinions. Not contract. Nobody knows the real deal, except top executives, their short and long term strategy, and how they plan to get it, hook or crook.
Again, the section is VERY interesting, and describing “parties” will discuss and any disputes regarding weight or seat restriction of such MRJ or scope flying can be determined by the jurisdiction of the Systems Board if there is a dispute, further places this out of ALPAs hands.
Growth is already planned for Spirit Airlines, thus Regional Flying/Carve our can also be added in conjunction with Spirits Growth as they occur.
These are just serious things to think about. Lots of Carve outs potential /weak scope protection, and CRJ700 flying or MRJ flyings by SKYWEST or Trans State Holdings, and/or transfers of MRJ jets to GoJet. So much ambiguity it seems and potential for regional FFD/FFS growth along with Spirits planned growth potential/networks.
P.s. business models are changed over time, not overnight. Look at the leadership changes and strategic changes that has already occurred. Make profits hook or crook. IF this company could not change its business model it would be evident in its contracts and public strategic goals.

I agree, the idea of voting based on "the good of the profession" rings a little shallow with me. I died "for King and Country" enough as a Comair pilot, and nobody thanked me. BTW, I'm not even suggesting anyone SHOULD have thanked me, only that people should vote their own conscience and their own interests.

Sorry for hijacking the thread but I am looking for something in the TA and I can not find it. Where does it say that Spirit will pay for training? Could we end up having to pay for our own recurrent training? I looked in the training section and could not find it. If anyone knows where it is let us know please.
