We obviously DO NOT if we are considering this sellout.

I don’t want to start over somewhere else if I don’t have to and I want Spirit to be a place that we can all thrive til retirement.

They only get paid when they fly the pax. When Alaska determines they have enough traffic to fly to Japan, or more importantly, has the right aircraft to do it, I'm sure they will. But in the interim, they get the feed from JAL and get to keep customers on Alaska that need to go to Japan rather than have them book on someone like UAL.

Educate yourself on how this industry works and stop scaring people with your pontifications on things you clearly know little about.
If that’s true

1. why don’t we have profit sharing to share in the benefits of those agreements when they come

2. why hasn’t Jetblue started flying their own jets on some of their numerous codeshare routes? My guess is they could support a lot of that flying on their own or even maybe supplement with codeshare. Instead they keep adding more.

3. Why do airlines have restrictions and limitations on codesharing? It’s only logical that when it’s possible to do the flying in house the airline would do it but that’s not the case industry wide.

4. Why would domestic codesharing even exist?

Listen I’m obviously beating a dead horse so I’ll layoff. I can see it’s becoming tiresome for many here and for me as well. I’ve seen in my family the damage that outsourcing can do over a career. Also, any of us that spent way too long at regional airlines making little money because those that came before us failed to see the damage of not having that flying done in house know what outsourcing can do on both sides. It’s not good for anyone. Nor is having two airlines separated yet owned by the same company no matter how big or small one or the other is.

Happy trails. I’m not going to leave the forum but I’ll dial it back on the scope talk.

You make valid points...
You aren't going to change the mind of these few on here that have the Union's hot dog up their asses, and the company's hot dog up their *#&$*#. The term is double penetration

It is what it is.

STOP AND THINK

For those who have "vote this thing in and start the clock again for next negotiations" as a reason to vote yes, stop and think. You are rushing to vote in a contract in order to start the clock for a next contract? What?!?!? A contract is open NOW for a chance to get a better contract NOW, why put it off for 7 more years?. Leave the future for the future, as everyone on here says, "no one knows what the future holds".

No need to rush into what you'll experience for the next 7 yrs. Ensure you are getting the best contract now so when the clock starts again you have 7yrs of decent QOL and pay and not needing to even worry about when the next contract will come. It's gonna be either:
1) You guys sitting comfy and in no rush to ratify another contract in 2025 or
2) Management sitting comfy when they get all the concessions they need from this TA therefore having all the reason to drag out a next negotiation in the future.

The choice is yours Today

If you think mgmt wont drag out another contract negotiation again, then you deserve to be bamboozled.

PS. Sorry for posting this on multiple forums, its just stupid to have that as a reason.

Agree^^^
Important to remember that these atrocious work rules will be with us for the rest of our time at NK.
Work rules NEVER come back once given up, compensation fluctuates.
