In this article the Wall Street journal they say the airlines will be bigger beneficiaries from tax reform than other multinational companies because the majority of their income is made in the United States. Delta has already upped their forecast for 2018. So airbus captains making $300k will see even higher profit sharing checks. This trend will be seen across the industry while Spirit refuses to pay industry standard pay and no profit sharing.
Go take a look at the W2 thread in the majors section and realize what crooks our Management group are. Let’s hope they decide to toss us a real TA and not crumbs.

Because of the tax bill, over 80 companies have announced bonuses or new employee benefits. Even Walmart is raising their starting wage from $9 to $11 and giving some bonuses to long term employees. I doubt Spirit will do anything, though.

Look, if Spirit wants to give out any employee appreciation money it won’t happen until after negotiations are finished, it undermines their position. Even then if they don’t want to that’s their prerogative. “Well run companies” (their words) see the value in having an employee base with high morale; they work harder to further increase the company’s profitability. Hopefully Spirit understands this and acts accordingly in the future...

I couldn’t care less about a $1,000, granted I’ll gladly deposit it if given. I want a piece of the pie in perpetuity in the form of an industry standard not lagging TA and profit sharing to capture a piece of their massive windfall.
