Last I checked, Slick Willy is a Democrat.

Don't kid yourselves; both parties hate pilots and unions.

Good luck to you guys; you'll eventually get a decent contract. But the process is a huge pain.
Last I checked APA isn’t a member of AFL-CIO. For comparison’s sake, Northwest (ALPA is a part of AFL-CIO) was released in 1998 under Clinton. If APA was AFL-CIO, I doubt they would have been ordered back to work.

Last I checked, Northwest was much smaller than AMR before they merged into Delta.

Please read at least the first paragraph of the article I linked. Note that the reason for cancelling AMR's strike is that it threatened nationwide air travel. Northwest was never big enough to do that.

Is that what you really think? It’s all politics.

Yes.

Do you think that any of the big 4's unions will be permitted to strike any time in the future? I don't and I think that future Presidents will point to Slick Willy's shutdown of the AMR pilots' strike as precedent.

Do you really think that it mattered that it was APA rather than ALPA that went on strike?
And do you think that shutting down APA's strike didn't have long term negative impact on all airline unions?

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. Clinton couldn't care less about AA or NWA. One's pilot union is affiliated with AFL-CIO (major Democrat constituency and donor - ALPA) and one was independent and made up of a majority of Republican voting members (APA).

I agree that we'll just have to disagree.

I do agree that all politicians are for sale. I disagree that APA's PAC money is less desirable to Dems.

Do you not think that the APA's PAC hasn't donated to both political parties?

ALPA PAC is smartly bi-partisan. I admittedly don’t know much about APA-PAC.

I picked that up immediately with your political spin. There aren't many entities that don't play both sides of the political fence - partisan politics is a human thing.
