You have no idea how unions work do you? ALPA doesn’t force anything on you. Your Union is only as strong or weak as YOUR MEC/LEC. Which you as a pilot group elect. Then those elected officials negotiate a contract that YOU and the rest of the Spirit pilots vote on. Once you get a yes vote THEN ALPA National signs off.
If you are so upset YOU should recall your MEC/LEC and go run for the position. Nothing can be forced upon you unless Spirit pilots vote yes.

It isn't the MEC that's the problem, it seems that enough of our pilot group voted to "explore pbs" looks our fellow pilots are the problem. I am unwilling to turn over control of pbs to a management team that cannot run a vacation bid correctly, or facility distance learning properly, or run a master seniority list correctly, or pay us correctly. We shouldn't be so anxious to return to talking with them for what will no doubt end up being total mediocrity.

The sky is falling, the sky is falling!
The majority of pilots wanted to explore a PBS package, they are doing that.
If they reach a TA based on this, we can vote either for or against. If it fails, the NC would most likely be replaced. If it passed, it’s because the majority of pilots are for it.
It’s that simple. Nothing is being forced.
Regardless, majority rules. We all signed up for that concept when we entered into a collectively bargained agreement. Don’t like it? Fly in China or some other non union outfit.
And there is nothing more pathetic than those on here, mostly trolls, with the constant hate and second guessing directed towards our NC. It’s really a thankless job and a tough job that will never result in everyone being happy with their results; but having to listen to the constant keyboard warriors who won’t lift a finger beyond the keyboard they pluck away on is sad and pathetic.
