There may be one or two that show up on a sched, but then I can usually trade them off..Quality of life on a narrow body generally sucks anyway, line bidding or not. Yes you lose training, end of month and vaca conflicts witch sucks, but depending on the software it does not have to be the end of the world. Not sure I would draw a line in the sand JUST for PBS. Especially if you get money, calendar day, keep your 4 days off etc..
Hello, ex NK here. At Delta for about 18 months.
I was hearing negatively about PBS when I was at NK but I really don't have much to complain about.
I have had both Xmas and New year's off both years I've been at DAL.
I get most of what I request:
No more than 3 legs per day, no report prior to 8am, requested blocks of one week off a few times, even 15 off in a row. This month, I requested all turns And got about half of my schedule. All of them over 6h45 credit which resulted in a rather efficient schedule.
I do work most weekends for that.
I did enjoy the 4 days off at NK. I never requested less than 3 days off in between pairings and always got it.
I am sitting at about 60% from the bottom in my base and equipment.
I'm not sure how the NK PBS would differ but it's not bad at DAL.
Only thing I dislike at DAL is the minimum guarantee of only 65hrs. At least when that happened I had between 18-20 days off so I've been able to pick up an extra flight. But I'm not sure open time will always be there.
Good luck on the contract

Thanks for the update. Worth mentioning that rsv guarantee is average line value for that month correct? Usually averages around 78hrs?

It would seem to me that with the volume of flying DL does on a particular type out of a base compared to NK, there would be much more of a variety of flying to construct pairings, which would result in more preferences being honored. In a small base like ACY, what percentage of pilots would actually get anything they ask for?

Probably very little in ACY but buddy up there says half CAs get releif so they get ZERO input anyway

That's correct. But it's more around 72-74 hrs if I remember correctly.
Some months, we'll get an extra day off.
