So right now I can afford my hobby of flying as a captain for NK because my wife has a job. If we give up all our work rules for a 50 % pay raise, either me or my wife will quit because someone has to stay home and take care of the kids. I will not vote in some POS contract with a small raise and give up the little QOL we have.
P.S. she makes more as an SWA FO than I do

You’ll have a household bringing in close to a half mil a year between the two of you in a few years.

Get a nanny and you’ll still have more money leftover versus this contract we have now.

I also like what we have in regards to schedule flexibility and there are many more out there. We sure as hell deserve more money and it shouldn't be at the expense of QOL givebacks.

Do we have access to poll results and the questions that were asked?
I’d like to take a look at them again to see if I feel the same on a second look.
Anyone else feel like I do about the poll?
Regarding PBS..our route structure isn’t big enough, we don’t have a large enough pilot group and the type of flying we do (redeyes!) just does not support/justify PBS from a pilot perspective in my humble opinion.
Speaking for myself, if PBS must come to Spirit it’s going to take a huge amount of convincing from our union leaders that this can be done without giving up all the QOL we currently have for me to be convinced.

I have to disagree with the sentiment that we must accept PBS to get industry standard. We’ve already waited 2+ years just to get where we are now. I’m firmly in the Fire Water Burn (song title) camp. Don’t want to start over but not gonna work like AA for much lower pay, PS, retirement, travel bennies...I want a raise yesterday but if this management team thinks I’m willing to sell my soul for it they are mistaken.

Why does anyone think that Spirit is on par with any of the big 4? Not the same business models. Not the same level of service. Not even the same customer base. If you guys are being offered JB rates and turn it down due to PBS then you're proving how crazy you are to even have gone to work at a place like Spirit to begin with. With the industry the way it is, vote with your feet and go make big 4 wages.
