I wish APA had waited on PBS. It was a major degradation in QOL. We really needed to wait until some of the real garbage guys retired before jumping into that mess.

It is what it is, I guess. I’ve always preferred line bidding, and there are much better ways to do PBS.... But what did we expect-given our pathetic union?

Right off the AA PBS thread today. Something tells me we do this, it's going to be the biggest mistake of our careers here at Spirit.

They mentioned people who quit won't be entitled to any fund. I agree 100%.

And then you try and spin it into being selfish and making it an LTD thing, and bring families of deceased pilots into the conversation. Thats pathetic and low. Spin, all spin.

I would have a huge problem if any retro payment was diluted to cut checks to people who pulled the ripcord and are not on property any longer. This isnt being selfish, its being logical.

But nice attempt at spin and pushing your anti-MEC/NC agenda.

Union Buster...add you to the list.
Let me be clear, I think any pilot who worked under this CBA past the amendable date, for any length of time, should be entitled to their prorated share of retro pay. That is what being a 'union' is all about.

The negotiating committee signaled on the call, by way of their remarks on who may be eligible for retro, that groups or classes of pilots may be excluded. This has the potential to exclude pilots who are on medical leave, have died, have retired, etc. Doing this would be wrong and divisive and I hope this negotiating committee does the right thing. Southwest paid retro pay to the above groups by the way.

I bet most of y'all wouldn't know the ALPA handbook (it's actually called the Constitution and Bylaws) if it fell on your lap. Keep a close eye on this NC. Ask the 26%ers...

If the ALPA handbook specifically says what to do with retro, then we will obviously follow those guidelines. I actually agree with you when it comes to paying pilots who have left. One of the reasons being that it may be easier for the “on-the-fence” pilots to pull the trigger and bail to another airline, which could help our leverage. Not to mention those folks did work at Spirit for a period of time and were underpaid like the rest of us. Why wouldn’t they get back pay (retro)? I suppose a signing bonus may be different. Idk

All that being said, I generally don’t agree with pretty much anything else you have posted lol.

Work got in the way of the last conf call.

Did they really say that they were only going to negotiate a "FRAMEWORK" for PBS? Seriously?

Hence why some labor groups in the past have accepted a "signing bonus" vs "retro" as it's a way to screw the pilots not on property the day it gets paid.

Hey guys just out of curiosity, what do you Spirit guys think of Allegiant and their pilot contract? Seems like the Teamsters got them a pretty sweet contract.
Would you guys accept something similar to them?
