The NMB has two Republican members now due to Trump. Remember, the guy who won in November 2016 (not Obama or Clinton)? Puchala and McCann are irrelevant now.

Read up on the NMB and the difference between the 3 board members and a senior mediator. McCann is a mediator. She doesn’t have any power to release a group to strike, neither does Simms who is a senior mediator.
The three board members are now 2 Republicans and 1 Democrat appointments, it was 2-1 the other way prior.

You are more than welcome to educate me on this then. I was under the impression that the mediator (C McC) would have the authority to release an airline into self help after proffering arbitration (which we would most likely turn down) and thus enter into the 30 day. You are saying she does not have the authority to release us?
