Am I the only one that thinks it's absolutely absurd that DOT doesn't open until the 26th?

Why? They are actually following the contract and the language on when the schedule has to be processed as it goes through the steps.

You rather...less time for bidding or less time for IOT to make it better?

For all the times the company blows the contract, we have an issue when they actually follow the contract?

No, I completely agree with you. Having said that it is spelled out in the current contract how we run the bids, and the company is in compliance. Actually there is a few things in our current contract that we as pilots are trying to get changed, a few of these would be:
Pay-scales, retirement, STD, LTD, Scope, DOT opening on the 26th,
(I hope you get the point.)
