The reason our failure rate is so high is because the level of experience of new hires, the hiring standard, the quality of applicants, and quantity of applicants has been appreciably in decline the last couple of years. Combine this with the most condensed possible training program allowed under part 121, a plethora of new or inexperienced instructors, and a relatively short upgrade time, and you arrive at our current predicament of having to overhire by "X" percent to actually staff the airline appropriately. Training isn't in the business of creating quality pilots here, they train to check boxes and fill seats.

Looks like our colleagues at NV get one more sim, but the program is otherwise similar, and the washout is apparently "non-existent".

You would think that if they are that desperate they would just do a little extra training and retain some of them. Knowing they now have a recent 121 failure is an easy way to retain them for a few years. This place has turned into an absolute scum pit. Why do people go to Spirit? Honestly. If this is how they treat you off the bat doesent this strike an alarm? Then to see what they pay should be like a nuclear explosion of alarms. But 60 a month show up for the bendover inspection. Unreal. And we call ourselves professionals and show up at a place like this.
