Seriously, I get a better glass of orange juice in Kuwait, then I do in a hotel in Florida. No, I take that back. THE BEST OJ I EVER HAD WAS IN KUWAIT. Ever have a free breakfast in Germany? South Korea? China? India? Middle East? Anywhere in Europe other than France?
In the United States, we have been given a **** filled smoke screen of cheapened ****, that everyone is too ignorant to realize. Absolute worst part of my job is being stateside, and I say this as a far right wing conservative who loves his country.

Every time I see a "continental breakfast" at a US hotel, I start cursing out loud, saying, "What is this ****?? The same god damn ****, YOUR breakfast sucks! Wipe that damn smirk off your face, this is nothing to be proud of!" Meanwhile, all the other Americans have a huge smile on their face, chowing down powdered eggs, sausage patties made from slaughter house floor sweepings, maybe a preprocessed omelette covered in oil, those same damn waffles everyone has, orange juice from 2 year old concentrate, etc.

Oh boy where do I start. I agree with most of your statements. But I lived in Kuwait for 3 years, and believe me when I say I will give up orange juice for life to never have to go back there. I could write for days man. I appreciate a continental breakfast. Because I don't get them at my current job. I appreciate the ability to swap flights because I can't do that. I appreciate the fact that the ground staff doesn't push your aircraft into another because they don't have wing walkers because that is what they do over here. I appreciate the fact that ATC doesn't start your descent until 80 track miles to the airport and then asks you to reduce speed, because that is what they do here EVERYDAY. I appreciate the fact that I can let my kids run outside without getting bitten by a mosquito and dying because that is what happens here (Yea ticks now I know). I appreciate the fact that I can buy a car for less than 100k because that is the minimum of what it costs here. If you leave to go overseas, and maybe you already are and have convinced yourself it’s okay, you will regret it almost immediately. And most of all I appreciate the fact that I won’t have to work 5 days with 1 day off and then another 5 with 2 days off and then be expected to appreciate it. Everyone is so grateful over here because if they don't comply, guess what? You are GONE. Spirit just voted to strike. Frontier also. Not ideal? Of course, it isn't. But if I go on strike here I'm the only one and possibly go to jail. When I see complaints about orange juice, or gay marriage or bathrooms, or internet not working on the airplane, I am sure those people have never really been challenged and don’t appreciate what is so amazing about our great country.
My wife, son and my passports were stolen in the Philippines. I walked into the US embassy and they said, “sorry you have to deal with that Sir. Come back tomorrow and we will have a new one for you.” My wife went to her embassy and they asked her if she sold it, and wanted two police reports and needed a signed notarized affidavit to then wait three weeks for a new one. I have had enough. I will enjoy eating burnt free eggs for the rest of my career. America has lost its way, that is correct, but other places have never found it, and people just suffer silently until they die in most places. We have something worth fighting for and if people can’t see that then I don’t know what else to say. Pilots on the other hand have been screwed over the last 15 years or longer so I understand the anger and rage. I missed the “lost decade”, but I still lost and sacrificed a lot, just in a different way. 9 years! It’s a tough business, but believe me, having flown all over the world in foreign systems, there is NO better place to be a pilot, I can promise you that. Especially now. I can’t wait to look at a continental breakfast and say “this is dog****!” It will mean that I am back, and that I have arrived. Go USA!

They are doing you a favor if you get the rejection email. This is not a place you want to come unless you have no other options. The results of this week show that unless you plan on making less than 1/2 of what your peers make for several more years and then possibly having to walk the line this is not where you want to be.
I kick myself for coming here and not holding out for a real airline. Unfortunately I don't really have enough time left for a do over.

I read the whole thing, I didn't think I was that dumb. Maybe I am and I'm too dumb to know it.
