Unlike our worthless short-term rent-a-management, Spirit pilots by and large have a vested interest in keeping this ship afloat, and we go out of our way to assist the flying public, our passengers, the very people who make our mortgages and boat payments and college tuitions possible.

Our leadership team might be amateurs, but the Pilot group has always been the epitome of the "consummate professional."
If you can afford a boat payment or anyone's tuition besides dog training, you're not flying at Spirit my friend.

these are the rumors that trickle down to us at the regionals. not sure how true it is but i keep hearing spirit asks in their interview "what will you do if we hire you and delta calls you in a year?"..from the tone of my posts I'm guessing this isn't true

I was asked this exact question in my interview with the exception of replace Delta with United.

As with any interview, you tell them what they want to hear if you really want the job. They're stupid for even asking and hoping for a truthful answer.

Good luck.

It's ridiculous that they are asking that question to anyone interviewing today. If you say you wouldn't leave you're lying and if you say you would you probably won't be hired. I answered truthfully and said at this point in time (then) I wouldn't leave. With today's order book, today's contract, delta and uniteds current contracts there is no way I could answe that truthfully. As a new hire it's a no brainer.

The question is just routine for them and they need to stop asking it.

I told them the truth. I said at my age I am not interested in jumping around from airline to airline. I am looking for a home. If I am hired at Spirit I will pull all my resumes from other airlines so it won't even be an issue. Job offer a couple days later. I pulled all my resumes from other airlines the day I got the job offer. I have since renewed them and will keep them up to date until we ratify an industry standard contract.

Ha. I have my app in at Southwest, Delta, American, and United, and haven't heard a peep. 6500 total, 1200 pic, 320 737 145 type, degree, volunteer work. I know several others that are in same boat, while my friends at regionals with similar credentials are getting picked up left and right.

I'm in agreement that having Spirit on my resume is a hindrance.

Im at one of the regionals that flies for more than one mainline. so we get no flow or preferred interviews or anything. in my mind, why would united, etc. want to hire me if I'm technically already flying for them, if my company is having trouble hiring people, why would united want to hire me and then potentially cause the regional to cancel flights because lack of pilot. why hire from someone who already basically works for them, when they can hire from their competition ...do you get what Im trying to say? I've heard it called the regional conspiracy. what about jet blue guys do they have this problem? and do guys at allegiant and frontier have that "stink" on their resume also and have issues getting hired?
