Never flew with Mesa, but thanks for playing mister part-of-the-problem.
Had a sim with the Hatchet though. It almost ended up as half a sim but I talked my bro down and we completed it. No issues in the sim with anyone before that and none afterwards.

The Hatchet would never make it at any other airline. I've worked in training departments in my past life and he is an example of the exact opposite of what a training department would hire. Professional instructors have a passion to teach, work with you and make you better. He is a man that cannot admit he is wrong and his delivery needs tons of work. Any real airline training department would fire him.

Glad you did. I know many others who have had a different experience. If he would work on his demeanor and delivery, he would do himself and students a great service.

That's been my experience with him also. He just doesn't suffer fools very well. Come prepared, and you'll be fine. Come unprepared, and God help you.

Having personally been exposed to his tactics and with a 10 year + background in training, I can tell you his technique and delivery is flawed. Orals are very subjective and ANYONE can fail an oral examination. Outside of basic limitation, memory items and proficiency, anyone can bust systems knowledge specially based on the crappy teaching you get here. I understand at the end of the day he wants to teach, but when you tear someone down with your delivery, the person does not learn.
