Haha...you know what Gunga wants; billboards, newspaper articles and illegal work actions. His idea of leading has always been something that involves the MEC telling the pilots to fly their line an dont pick up open time.
Thankfully this forum is the closest Gunga will get to an audience for his platform

How about a pleasant phone call like "hi this is Mike your P2P and I was wondering if you had a minute to talk. We're calling each pilot to tell them personally how the negotiations are going and what you can do to support the negotiations at this crucial time.... can we count on your support?"
This one action, which admittedly is labor intensive, would go a long way in getting the company to take notice.

Lol Gravy is real good right now! JA's are coming at ya. Don't let those poor passengers get stuck. Help the people and get some gravy.

Phone blew up today claiming the company isn't showing up for the scheduled meetings with ALPA. Bendo is the invisible man and is way to busy for a meeting with our union reps! The company is now in full blown "Plan B" mode. The Airline is functioning relative well so delay and hope the industry hits a bad spot and buys them some kind of relief so they can cry poor while sitting on a pile of coin.

Besides the ideas which I was mocked for 6 months ago? The very same actions the union also suggested and did? And now similar actions rumored to be adopted by the union?

As for the friendly P2P conversation, I'm thinking the illegal part would happen right after the "..." in your statement were "Mike" tells the pilot how he can help.
Timeline: wait for the inevitably bad offer from the company. Publish the offer to get everybody worked up (a few here will probably be close to stroking out). Then, at the emotional peak, call a strike vote. All throughout the process making notes of all the company's bad behavior (no shows, being unprepared when they do show, proposals that are rediculous, etc).
They have been building a case for release for over a year now. It's not the time to do something stupid just for the sake of doing something. Not to say we are remotely close to a release, but the stack evidence is growing. It's a frustrating time for all of us but I think the nc is playing the game correctly right now - subject to change of course.

What in the actual heck (toned down for apc / snowflake consumption) are you talking about? What you were calling for six months ago was nothing short of a job action and harassment. I don't remember the mec suggesting and using the same, but even if they did, wouldn't that be your definition of good leadership? You kind of contradict yourself on that one.

Or if you're the company you come into the busy summer months short about 50-100 CPT's. Then realizing you're gonna have a disruption to the operation you try to cover your rear. Solution is to no show negotiations and stir up the pilot group and union. We vote for a strike prior to summer. Inevitable poop storm melt down happens. Company claims to mediator that we're the problem and are disrupting their precious operation claiming how smooth last summer went, and they just voted to strike. Company calls for all hands on deck, mediation sessions halt, and they buy themselves another 6 months.
Standard legal play for the enemy!
I just hope the union has told the mediator that this is a potential scenario coming into the summer. Or maybe I'm thinking too much.
