Time will tell if they are serious about this or if this is just smoke and mirrors to distract us. I am cautiously optimistic.
Let's see what they propose.
Perhaps more pickets, some ads and billboards, some educational and motivational phone calls to some of the weak kneed chokers. Hopefully some unvarnished intel on negotiations.
No need to go over the line. Just a simple change in posture is a
good start and it looks like they may have finally done so. Once the union removes the 'let's play nice' cover from the chokers I hope they fall in line. As someone else said, planes moving is the only thing they pay attention too.

You really don't get it do you? They cannot and will not call people who pick up open time. Not even the ones who go over 5 JAs in a year. The company gets fined when that happens and that's it.

Sounds like the pilot wide call is going out so I hope we get some aggressive leadership here.

2 things can be true:
1)Picking up DOT a week out clearly helps the company; flights are covered without paying a premium, or having to staff the company appropriately.
2)Being on the Standing Avail list to get that "sweet" trip inside of 2 days helps the company. They don't have to burn a reserve or pay 200% premium to another pilot to cover.
Burning reserves=
less reserves available=
more 200% calls=
less pilots to take JRMS=

This is true to a certain degree. In my case its really kind of a "wash" since they've already had to "burn" a reserve to cover the trips I drop in IOT. IF I do pick anything up, its simply to bring myself back to line value. If that wasn't considered legitimate and we wanted to make a serious campaign to hurt them, we should ALL drop as many trips as possible in IOT , then pick nothing up afterwards. I'm obviously not serious.....yet just making a point. I will say however that I'm coming closer to agreeing with the mindset that if they are only 48hrs out, its possible there's a chance of disruption if simply left alone.

This is my last post about this. I appreciate your thoughts and consideration to adjust your approach on picking up trips with the 48 hrs. If everyone would look at the trips that show up lately on the flica alerts, they have dh's on each end. They are just breaking Up the flying and adding dh to either side to get us to do it with out them having to call. Whoever is in scheduling trying this is not stupid. It's tempting for sure to get 9hrs on a day trip but if nobody picks it up it blows up in their face. JA for someone for that. Let them get 18hrs. They are desperate and trying anything to cover over transition. Wherever the reserve grid is red, even with the buffer set high and it's down to red "0" if one guy has a legit sick call on that day and no one answers the phone it cancels. Simple as that. Let's all try this going forward. Once we have a TA you all can go back to your money making schemes.

Excellent points. The investors and the board et al will not think that labor is all that unhappy so long as we continue to keep the operational performance at the "highest level in years" as was stated in the last investor call. Until there are problems there are no problems as far as they are concerned.
It is time for people to realize that you are either part of the solution or part of the problem. If you run rescue missions for the company to get that MUP, JRM, over guarantee or even if for straight time but for a trip that there may have been a tough time covering you have contributed to the delay of the contract.

I'm thinking one right off the freeway right by the training centers in both DFW and FLL.
