Unless you plan on being permanently based there, why bother? Vegas is close and a great commuter base. Oakland is full of guys who either live on the west coast and can drive or have an easy commute (commutable trips both ends) or transient guys who are hoping to leave there the next month.
Once you hold a line, there are a few hotel options that make it doable, although it is the worst commuter base in our system. Most commuters have given up on Oakland and bid into Vegas where they enjoy great seniority and a plethora of commuting options with rides and places to stay.

Did my month of RSV stint in OAK recently. Stayed at the LQ for ~$77/night and did 8 or 9 nights there. Was doing AMs and got used every day except 3. Always finished the last day early enough to get home to the midwest. Redeyes out of SFO saved me once. You can get creative with housing with AirB&B and Uber, but with the variable rsv skeds and high housing costs, hotels are a good way to go.

FedEx Jumpseat Control - (800) 544-9040/(901) 224-5420.
$8-10 cab ride from pax terminal to FedEx facility. I usually gave the cab driver a $5 tip since I took him out of line for a "good" fair.
Just another option.

Be sure to look at Ameriflight also, though they’d probably be going to Burbank...
