Why in %^$'s name would they do a credit check?!? Are you going to be issued a credit card to purchase fuel?!?

You can learn a lot from someones credit. Is the person responsible and stable? Every corporate job I had ran my credit can't remember if SWA did but I think so.

So a responsible stable person might be denied a JOB because maybe their wife ran off and ruined his credit?
Yeah that's logical.

I don't recall my credit being run as part of my application at Southwest.

It's not a credit check. Equifax and other companies also run background checks.

I love this comment. But companies run credit reports on most potential employees. So in that moment I was concerned tbh

My dad use to tell this joke to every waitress at any restaurant we ate at. Then he'd try to pay with a library card. Good times.

Take a deep breath dude...

How about address verification as a reason to get equifax involved?

And if you do have multiple liens/judgements etc against you, they have every right to get clarification on it before they entrust you with their most prized assets...their customers. I'd want to know if it were my company...
