I've never used PBS before, but friends have. What they all seem to say is that 1) PBS bidding has a HUGE learning curve and mistakes in how you input preferences can hurt you big time. 2) The very senior and very junior seem to like PBS, but the vast majority do not like it. And 3) You can forget about vacation trip touch drops. You'll work right up to your vacation and start right after your vacation.
PBS is a no-go item for me in any TA we may vote on.

When I started class on October 7th I was approx 700 away from holding MCO. That number started to slowly tick down until the March vacancy when it dropped from about 590 to about 260. Now the April vacancy shows me about 130 from MCO so stuff is moving really fast right now.

I interviewed Jan 7th, references were called between Jan 20th and Jan 27th. Got the CJO on Feb 10th and will be in the March 16th class. I know some guys that interviewed the same day as me who got the CJO two weeks before me and had their references called all in one day around Jan 20th.
