Never thought I'd do it but I gave them a thanks but no thanks.
I'm happy here and will hold a base I live in way quicker than at UAL. When I jumpsat on both carriers at my last job the SWA guys were always having more fun and the UAL guys consistently told me, "you'll have a good career here but God this place is terrible". I'd rather get paid a few less bucks and be happy than be the best paid and be miserable.
That said, apply everywhere. Update often and go to whomever calls you first. If you're not happy keep your apps out.

Will having the type trigger the call? It used to be with SWA that 737 type + X TPIC (X being whatever was competitive that week) was the formula for an interview invite. Now things are different? I'm sitting at about 2700 TPIC, 0 121, no type.

On the subject of types....did anyone notice when ALLATPS bought Higher Power they doubled the price. A 73 type is now $15k. How on earth are they justifying this now that there presumably isn't as high of a demand for the 73 type?

I don't know for sure, but my guess would be that they got rid of the classic sims and now your only option is to do it in an NG, maybe even an -800?

It's impossible to know what will trigger the call.
There seems to be strong correlation between the type and the invitation, however.

Not sure about the type, but multiple job fairs seem to help. I had a little more TPIC when I got the call, all 121

If SWA is where you want to be I would bet you get the invite after getting a type unless you have some other things on the resume which are not so positive. Good Luck!

Are you military? I hate to assume but I figure you are from your total time. I was not military, but I was a director of training/scheduling, and I needed to have an edge somehow. The type does give extra points, but as to how much is the big question.
Things are changing. Will the type pool dry up before they finish hiring this year? I don't know. In 2015 there were over 1000 typed applicants. How many of those remain is anybody's guess.
Obviously people will think twice before paying the current rate. Like most have said, it's a gamble.
EDIT--just realized you posted TPIC. Disregard my assumption.

The type is the only thing I have heard pilot hiring plainly state will give you an edge. It helps. You still have to meet and exceed the other minimums though.
SWA is slowly coming down off their high horse from the early 2000's. As the pool of candidates goes to more "average joes" and they come to grips with no longer being the cat's meow, they will start hiring more non typed guys and 121 guys with more normal experience levels.
