if given the choice, would you guys recommend to go to united over southwest? my family will move to whatever bases are available so that's not an issue.

I'll make it simple. You go to the first major that hires you.

i'm sorry. i know how these threads go always down the wrong path. that is certainly not my point. its just that i have a life long decision to make and was wondering if anyone here regrets their decision to join southwest. i know the difference between the two operations it's just a hard choice.

Unless you have an offer from both, then you're only deciding which ones to APPLY to. Apply to all that you'd be willing to work for and then see which ones actually offer you a job.

I doubt you'll have the luxury to choose between the two, but more power to you if you do. In which case......definitely UAL

Do you have a job offer from both? If not, you don't have a decision to make.

Each airline will offer many negatives and positives depending on your personal preferences. No employer is perfect. Both will offer a lifetime of career to you. You will find talent and professionalism at both places. Take the first offer and never look back. And if you have to kill a kitten to get into SWA, just remember to not hesitate or flinch. They just make you do it again.

Hey, anyone that went to NGPA get a interview or a special link to apply like they did at OBAP?

None of us can make that decision for you. You make the best decision for you and your family that you can with the information you have at the time and hope it works out for you. You won't know that until the day you retire though. Hopefully from that same company!
