Southwest Hiring Info 2016

Question for those interviewed lately. If you had internal contacts at SWA did you have them submit recommendations on pilot credentials here:
https://swa.pilotcredentials.com/ind...ommend&clid=79
or did you have them type up something and then you scanned it as PDF and uploaded it in the same place as resumes, certificates, etc???
Thanks in advance.

You may notice that Mr. Kelly doesn't tell you how WN will get to 5,000 flights a day with 11,610 pilots. I wouldn't presume that it means organic growth. WN has a history of growth via acquisition in the not too distant past, and all indications are that history will repeat itself again. If that happens, you can throw out all growth and upgrade projections. Not trying to be a downer, just trying to keep it real.

How important is to SWA or other major airlines to have some prior 121 experience? My experience is all civilian 135/91 with 5000tt and 2200tpic. I currently live out west flying as PIC on a large cabin corporate aircraft and considering going to a regional to build some 121 experience. Other than the pay cut going to a regional, is it better to continue building tpic in corporate or to get some 121 experience anywhere I can?

Here's another 737 taking off. Pretty much the same as every other 737 for the last 50 years. Nothing ground breaking here. But, since it's not called "737RJ" I'll call it a win.

Sign up for type rating
Scheduled a type rating today with HPA. I have VA benefits that I need to use and figured it couldn't hurt. Based on the home study info I received it's going to be a firehose course.
All time is military (Army):
1550 TPIC (Kingair, Shorts)
6000+ Turbine rotorcraft
3300 Instructor
I figure I need all the help I can get!

I promised I search a big part of the previous 326 page thread but was curious about real take home pay first year and what schedules look like on reserve and lines? How much does insurance run for a family?

Not really about the TA, but not worth starting a new thread for: when do you get your schedule for the following month? Trying to let the wife know how much notice she'll have to plan for child care each month.
