Wow. Do they normally take so few interviewees?? Hard to believe they can be that picky in this environment.

Good luck to those of you that want on. I'll stick with my current gig.
I don't blame you. As I've said on this forum before anyone who wants a truthful and unbiased opinion of the modern SWA feel free to PM me. The company has a very aggressive social media policy so I'm not comfortable posting much on here. It's not all negative but it's very accurate to say they should have changed the name of the company in 2005. The only thing purple SWA (modern SWA) has in common with brown SWA (pre 2005 SWA) is the Boeing 737. I fly with plenty of probationary FOs who really start to understand what that means at about the 6 month point.

Hey, it turns out that we have an industry leading flow through to United and FedEx lately...maybe not a bad time to get hired.

Of the ten of us that interviewed only one got the job offer but he went to FED EX instead. I received the email on the event that will happen next month in DAL. It is really hard to move my schedule around at my current airline. I still have a deep desire to worth for SWA but I am a little gun shy from what transpired in June. Any advice?
I was invited in April and also interviewed in June. I was hired. I think about half were hired in my group. Myself had over 11,000 hours and two recent type ratings. Previous experience included 13 years of regional 10 as a Captain. The experience level in my group was pretty high. I think the competition at this point is just very stiff and its true they can't hire everyone that comes through the door. I think they do the best they can. I felt they were definitely looking for certain characteristics of "the person".

FWIW I've had my stuff in at AA, Delta, and FedEx for 10 years and have not heard a peep from any of them. I'm happy and thankful SWA gave me a shot. Honestly I don't like what I'm hearing about them, but I still think there is potential there. Contract negotiation time is never a happy time. If you can believe it I have acquaintances at FedEx that if they didn't have so much time in at FedEx they would rather be at SWA... They say the money is great but brutal at times.

One leg a night is pretty rare I think. I commuted on them for a couple of years to DTW and I was always surprised to hear how much they whined. My few friends there I'm still in contact with, its a split. Some have it good, some not as good. Still better then I ever had by a bunch!
