What are you doing now?
At the risk of sounding harsh, I think you need a degree. There are online courses that are legit, and designed to work around a professional's schedule.

Everytime I think I've figured out how this place does something, they do/say something that confuses me even more. I've no idea. There's only 20 or so vacancies but they were saying at the TC that 3 classes were going to bid. I thought that just 2 classes would bid and the class that started last week would have a temp base for March, but what do I know.
The 12/14 class had a temp base for Feb and the typed guys in that class finish before the non-typed guys in the 12/9 class who didn't get a temp base. So the 12/14 guys for sure are on the bid and guys in the 1/6 class were told they'd be bidding too for March since they finish in Feb. Guess we'll find out in a week or so if that's true or not.

As far as vacancy numbers not matching new hires...
March scheduled retirements = 16
March CA vacancy add = 26
March FO vacancy add = 21
Total new bodies needed = ~63
(without replacing deceased, folks who left for greener pastures, loss of medical/early retirements)
Welcome aboard new hires!

The March vacancy includes 12/14, 1/6, and 1/13 classes. 12/14 folks will go to whatever they have highest between HOU, MDW, BWI, LAS, PHX, OAK. 1/6 peeps will mostly have the same without HOU. 1/13 will have all or nearly all of the class go to OAK.

Ok....that's what I thought then. Thanks for breaking it down.

They haven't announced the actual percentage yet.
Reading the tea leaves and what the CFO has said so far looks like between 15.5-16.5 percent of pay. It is an increase over last year, but there are more employees.
Assuming 4th year FO -
104.03/TFP
1200 or so TFP credited
Without doing actual math that won't be correct anyway, somewhere in the ballpark of $19-20 large.

The March vacancy will only include the Dec 14 and the Jan 6 class. The vacancy has 47 openings and there were 47 total new hires in those two classes. The Jan 13 class doesn't finish until the first week of March and then they still have to do OE. Doesn't make sense to have them bid lines just to have their first two weeks of trips pulled. The Jan 13 class will bid on the April vacancy. They will just get assigned trips in March in their temp domicile the last half of March. Hope that makes sense. Only took me 8 years to figure out the numbers myself.

Current job is 135 fractional.
You don't sound harsh at all, it's good advice and I absolutely need to.
