Lightbulb Southwest Chance?

Hello Currently Have :

Total Time 7500 all Turbine

1200 PIC (B767/A330)
6300 SIC on DC9/MD80/E190/B767/A330
Associate Degree and Currently Pursuing BA at slow pace.

Currently Flying PIC on A330-200F
ICAO + FAA ATP

What are my chances of getting called by Southwest since I don't have 737 Type
and what would usually be my option for a base on the east coast?

What?! You don't have the type or F-XX time? Fuggetuboutit.... (Just kidding). Good chance on both in all seriousness.

What I was recently told was that they will resurface the entire gate areas around concourse C over the next 2-3 years, shutting down three gates at a time. Once that is complete the plan is to break ground and build eastward on the concourse adding new gates.

Also, apparently they'd like to add more international flights and have their own customs hall in C concourse.

What I heard too. Just need to convince the talking heads we need more long overnights in all-inclusive resorts.

LMAO. Good luck with that. You're dealing with people who think "Just grab a muffin" is a good fill-in for a proper crew meal on international turns. HIGHLY insulting to say the least.

Agreed. In the 6/1 class, only 4 of 24 have the type while everyone has the degree.

Default 500 TPIC minimum

Anyone have the inside scoop on when Southwest is going to officially lower their TPIC minimum to 500? I've been checking their website everyday. Thanks!

I'd imagine they have plenty of applicants with 1000 TPIC. What's the incentive to lower it?

I just saw a little blurb in a company newsletter yesterday that addressed this rumor which stated "not anytime soon." TIFWIW

I personally know dozens of regional captains with 1,000s of TPIC hours and the 4-year degree who are patiently updating and awaiting an interview invitation.
I don't foresee SWA modifying their long-standing requirement of 1,000 PIC anytime soon. It took them years and years to remove the type requirement... SWA just moves slow when it comes to things like this.
