Maybe. Interesting dynamic as their costs are lower than ours. Financial balancing act of additive revenue vs increased costs vs elimination of a competitor. Since spirits revenue model is almost completely different than WN, I would question the efficacy of that deal

Well if SWA wants Spirit they'd better hurry before they merge with Frontier. I can see a case being made of eliminating a competitor in the Carib, Latin America, S. America market but I'm convinced that someone is buying JBA and there's a good chance it'll be SWA. BOS & NYC gates and SWA doesn't have a significant presence in either? Come on....

Anyone who has flown on JB knows that they are an aspirational brand - Target to our Walmart. Millenials think it's hip and trendy and love to Tweet about it. Their airplanes and gate areas are clean, their cabin offerings are an order of magnitude better. They simply are not compatible.
Their NYC management is liberal, ours is conservative. They invest heavily in technology, whereas we lag the industry in technology. (Their E190s have dual HUDs as a quick example. Their ACARS has substantially greater functionality)
I fear if we merged with them it would just be a real estate deal. We could earn many of the same benefits from Spirit and have a more compatible brand.

Sounds like a great future opportunity for Zuckerberg to launch Air Facebook.

Stay at a ULCC after 6 months or go to SWA
Been offered an interview with SWA after having been at an ULCC for 6 months. Not young as I'm in my early 50s. Many years of Military time. Upgrade time is about 2-3 years at ULCC but pay sucks. Any thoughts welcome. Thanks in advance.

Are you gonna commute? How important is that 4th stripe to you? Would you rather make more and be an FO at SWA or earn less and be a captain at your ULCC?
