On day one of training last week, they told us they're still on track to hire 616 new pilots this year. Then they said that in the next four years ('16-'19), they'd like to hire 2000 total, and have 11-1200 total planes by then...

What's the ratio of pilots to airlines now? To go to 1100 airplanes I'd think you'd need to at-least double those hiring numbers.

I've been hearing they upped the number to 800 this year for new hires. Is that still the case?

Based on the accelerated retirement of the classics, they revised the number back down into the 600's. With the "leaky sink" problem that they have right now though, it may take 800 to get 600 on property.

Haha, that problem is an easy fix. It's called a contract! 😉

400 more airplanes at 11.4 pilots per a/c equals 4560 new hires. How many pilots does jet blue have?
