For what it's worth, I just finished the first 2016 distance leaning module and the word on hiring was still 600+ for the year.

Any news on the Pilot board today? Lots of us who interviewed in the beginning of December are still sitting waiting for a call or a TBNT letter. Lots of references were checked last week and the consensus was there was to be a board today but no one got calls...any insight would be great! thanks!

Flyguy, how do they "add" 60 to this bid? Wouldn't it have to show at least 60 vacancies? Or do you mean the April bid will include those 60?

Hello,

Is anyone getting interviewed without the type rating / and or a college degree?

Historically, boards are held every other Tuesday. Internals are divided on timing. Usually, thank yous go out on Wednesdays. Welcomes come on Thursday or later.

Or not...

Good luck!

Plenty interviewed without the type. More than 50% from what I have been reading. As to the college degree and not having one...I think that's pretty rare among the current new hires. I could be wrong.

Along our sides are those who started flying post 9/11 and whose careers progressed naturally and relatively unaffected by the stagnation of the lost decade. They are reaching the majors today, as they should after normal career progression. Sometimes they look at us as if we did something wrong. They don't have the background to see what happened to us as a result of the RJ, 9/11, age 65, and the mega mergers. They just assume that they did something right that we did wrong.

I pray nothing happens that affects their careers as dramatically as were ours.
Zap - well said. I left the military at the worst possible time. 33 years old and right after 9/11 with too much confidence. Probably should have stayed on active duty and kept flying. Bad headwork and being stubborn caused me to be here & now, looking to get on with the majors in my mid-40's, like so many others.

Everytime I think I've figured out how this place does something, they do/say something that confuses me even more. I've no idea. There's only 20 or so vacancies but they were saying at the TC that 3 classes were going to bid. I thought that just 2 classes would bid and the class that started last week would have a temp base for March, but what do I know.

The 12/14 class had a temp base for Feb and the typed guys in that class finish before the non-typed guys in the 12/9 class who didn't get a temp base. So the 12/14 guys for sure are on the bid and guys in the 1/6 class were told they'd be bidding too for March since they finish in Feb. Guess we'll find out in a week or so if that's true or not.

Thanks for the replies. Sitting on almost 8000 hours, no type, no degree. Not sure if I stand a chance or not. Just keep trying I suppose.
