No big deal. You weren't the first person to say something. And I can see how it could be misconstrued. Maybe I need to think of something else. And I'm No koolaide drinker. If I was I'd still be in the Air Force.

Umm. I just went to check out my profile on the Career's website for SWA and clicked on "manage email subscriptions" and low and behold there were two unchecked boxes that I never saw before nor heard about that essentially "subscribes" your app and publishes it. On the bottom there's a note saying:
Warning: unsubscribing from mass email communications will prevent you from receiving notifications on any career opportunities, interviews, future considerations, etc. with our company. It is not recommended to unsubscribe from all communications.
Am I the only knucklehead?

One thing that has bugged me is that when I review my Pilot Cendentials application using "Print your profile," it shows a section for "Reference Information" right under the "Addresses" fields. However, inside the Pilot Creds pages, nowhere have I ever found a section to list any references. I found where to attach resume/CV/LORs, etc...am I missing something?
I just noticed this tab after like six months logging in and out of PilotCredentials. Went through the whole app review with Emerald and nobody ever said nuthin'. And now I feel like even more of a tool because it looks like I have to bug everybody who was kind enough to write me a LOR in the first place and convince them to go through this rigamarole, unless I'm missing something (which I may very well be).

Along those same lines I've attached five or six LOR's (one internal) for what they're worth. THEN, when I log out and go to the PilotCredentials home screen, there's this "Recommendations" tab. You hit that button and there's a place for your buddies to fill in their email addresses. The system then shoots them a code that they apparently use to enter their recommendation.

So, for clarification, the References tab in the SWA application (not PCred) is for internal references/recs only? I don't have any (yet) so do I worry about it at all?

For the record I was offered an interview at the beginning of the hiring without any internal references. After my interview a chief pilot called me because he was having trouble getting in touch with two of my external references that I had listed, but that I had a great package and interview and he wanted to wrap my package up and get it to the next decision board.
He then said the only thing my package was missing was an internal reference from a pilot. I had a flight attendant, a provisioning supervisor, and plenty of externals, but I explained to him that I got out of the Air Force early via a VSP and the vast majority of my buddies that I had flown with were still in. However, I told him I had a Southwest Captain friend that I had known for awhile, but had never flown with and I was under the impression that we had to have flown with that person. He said that was not the case and pilot credentials is wrong about that and to have that Captain submit a recommendation for me so he did and two weeks later I was offered a job.
